What is a Journey?

What is a journey to you?  Do you physically have to go somewhere?  Is a journey just a vacation?  There are so many questions I could pose to make one think more about what a journey is, or is to them.

Webster’s dictionary defines journey as

something suggesting travel or passage from one place to anotherthe journey from youth to maturity a journey through time

an act or instance of traveling from one place to another TRIP a three-day journey going on a long journey

We have found in our lives there are many journeys we take, some not planned, not fun, but others are beautiful memories that last a life time.

Tracey and I find ourselves on a plethora of journeys in our lives right now and some don’t even involve moving or changing locations.  As much as we love to travel there are other journeys that mean just as much.

We plan to share those with you all as well.  Sometimes we experience things in this life that we may not understand, or like, or ever want to do again.  There are also things we experience that may bring excitement and joy but we still don’t understand.  We have come to understand that not all things we go through or experience are for our own benefit.  Sometimes someone may need support or encouragement, and they can get that by watching someone else go through it.  Sometimes we find inspiration in what others are doing or have done.  You may never know who or how many you touch with just you living your life.  What a powerful thought.  Now after you ponder that a few times over in your head, will that change the way you live or make decisions?  How about whether you share your experiences?

That is where we are now, here and now.  We are experiencing life and think that others have been touched or perhaps will be touched.

We share our journeys, our trips to help others plan theirs.  We give suggestions on where to go or not go.  We let you know why we like or dislike places.  We even share our friends with you so that you may seek them out when you get there! So are there not other things in our lives that can and should be shared the same way?

Now before I get too far into this, please remember this is our personal story.  There is no right or wrong, good or bad, as that is all on the person having the experiences.  I don’t always agree with all of my friends but I still love them and love our time together.  We can agree to disagree at times and still enjoy life together.

You may or may not be at the same point in your life as we are, whether it is age, or marital status, job status, location, religion, politics, healthcare and on and on and on.  You may never get to where we are or where we go and that is okay too.  God made us each an individual for a reason.  So let’s all experience all life has to offer and share a journey or two along the way.

Stay tuned to some quick read stories about what is going on in our lives in a few different aspects.  We consider them all to be journeys and hope you will too.
