Our first trip to Oklahoma was inspired by friendship. We traveled to Bartlesville to spend time with our good friends, the Swinsons, and it gave us a wonderful introduction to a state we had never explored before. What immediately stood out to us was how green and lush everything was. Coming from Arizona, the abundance of trees and vibrant landscapes felt like a completely different world. Bartlesville itself was a charming town, full of character and historic touches that made us feel welcome from the moment we arrived.
While Oklahoma’s reputation for severe weather and tornadoes gives us a healthy respect for checking forecasts and planning around tornado season, it hasn’t diminished our interest in returning. In fact, our first visit left us wanting to see more. We hope future trips will allow us to explore other parts of the state, including a visit with a high school friend near Oklahoma City. Although our Oklahoma adventures are just beginning, our time there showed us a state rich in natural beauty, friendly people, and small-town charm. We look forward to discovering more and sharing those experiences in the travels ahead.
