The Best Birthday Gift Ever
Let me start by saying I have the most amazing wife!! For my birthday, Donna surprised me with tickets to the Broncos vs. Cardinals game at State Farm Stadium in Glendale. And not just any tickets. Third row. Right along the visitor tunnel. Yep, you read that right, third row!! And to make it even better, she sent me with my brother Scott. She knows me well 🙂

Front Row to the Tunnel (Well, Almost)
We find our seats and quickly realize just how close we are. As the teams come out of the tunnel we get to see every player and coach walk right past us onto the field. I can’t even describe how cool that was. You see the guys on TV every Sunday, but standing that close you really get a sense of just how big these guys are! (I may have yelled a little louder than necessary. Okay, a lot louder LOL.)

Broncos vs. Cardinals: A Sea of Orange
Now for those of you who don’t know us, Scott and I are lifelong Broncos fans. Born that way, raised that way, and we will go out that way. Usually when you go to a Cardinals home game you walk into a sea of red. Not this time! The stadium was easily 80% orange!!! It was like being at a Broncos home game right here in the Southwest LOL. And the best part? The Broncos WON 30-16!! That made an already great day even better.
A Halftime to Remember: Larry Fitzgerald
At halftime the Cardinals honored Larry Fitzgerald, inducting him into the Ring of Honor and retiring his No. 11. Even as Broncos fans, we were on our feet for this one. What a very cool part of the entire day. Larry is a true living legend, not just for what he did on the field but for the way he has always carried himself off of it. We felt blessed to be in the stadium to witness it.

The Victory Walk
And the fun didn’t stop at the final whistle. After the win, the whole team came right back past us heading into the tunnel, all smiles, waving and high fiving the fans. What a way to end the game!

New Found Friends
One of the best parts of the day was the people around us. We had a great group in our section and had fantastic conversations, with each other and with our new found friends. Isn’t it funny how football can bring total strangers together? By the end of the Broncos vs. Cardinals game it felt like we had known some of these folks for years.
Time with My Brother
As great as the seats, the win and the halftime show were, the best part of the day was spending this special time with Scott. Life gets busy and we don’t get days like this nearly enough. I will treasure this one for a long time.
Thank You, Donna!
So thank you to my amazing wife for the best birthday gift ever!! You knocked it out of the park, or should I say, through the uprights 🙂 Of course, she has done it before. Just ask anyone who was with us when Tracey hit the Big 5-0 in Vegas!
Be sure to check back soon for our next adventure!
