Our love for Texas started completely on a whim. With three weeks free and no destination in mind, we headed for Interstate 10. There, we made a simple decision—turn left. Living in Arizona at the time, that choice led us east into Texas. It was the beginning of a relationship with the Lone Star State that continues to this day.
What began as a spontaneous road trip quickly became one of our favorite places to visit. It offered new experiences, beautiful scenery, and plenty of reasons to return. If you’re planning your own trip, the official Travel Texas site is a great place to start.
Why Welcome to Texas Travel Now Means New Braunfels
These days, our trips to Texas are even more special. Our oldest son and his family call New Braunfels home. We visit whenever we can. Each trip reminds us why we fell in love with the state in the first place.
We enjoy the green landscapes, towering trees, and lush grass that are such a contrast to the Arizona desert. The changing seasons, cooler temperatures, and occasional thunderstorms bring rain we rarely see at home, and we love that too. Most of all, we love the people. Everywhere we’ve traveled in Texas, we’ve found genuine friendliness and hospitality.
Through the stories that follow, we’ll share the places we’ve explored and the adventures we’ve enjoyed. Those experiences are just some of the many reasons Texas continues to draw us back year after year. You can follow this destination and every other one on our travel map.
