Welcome to Pennsylvania travel—a state that, if we’re being honest, remains one of the biggest blanks on our travel map.
Unlike many of the places we’ve visited, Pennsylvania hasn’t yet been a destination we’ve intentionally set out to explore. Most of our experiences here have been brief and tied to other plans. We’ve flown through Philadelphia on our way to somewhere else. We’ve also spent time in the southeastern part of the state while attending the wedding of a dear friend who lives in Landenberg. Why Welcome to Pennsylvania Travel Is Still on Our Someday List
Even though we haven’t spent much time in Pennsylvania, it didn’t take much to realize there is far more here than we’ve experienced. The rolling countryside, historic towns, and beautiful landscapes we encountered left us curious. We wondered what lies beyond the small corner of the state we’ve seen. As travelers, we’ve learned that some destinations reveal themselves slowly, and Pennsylvania feels like one of those places.
What intrigues us most is the incredible variety the state seems to offer. Pennsylvania offers the rich history of Philadelphia and Gettysburg, along with mountains, forests, farmland, and small towns throughout the state. It appears to have something for nearly every type of traveler. It’s one of those places that repeatedly finds its way onto our “someday” list.
For now, our Pennsylvania story is short, but we have a feeling it won’t stay that way forever. The best part about travel is knowing there are still places we haven’t discovered yet, and Pennsylvania is certainly one of them. We look forward to returning someday and spending more time exploring. That will let us tell a much richer story about the Keystone State.
