Welcome to Florida travel from a family who keeps coming back, even without seeing it all. Florida is one of those states that we’ve visited several times. Yet we somehow still feel like we’ve barely begun to explore. If it weren’t for the distance from home, we’re certain it would be a destination we visited much more often.
Like many families, the magic of Disney shaped our first experiences with Florida. Over the years, we’ve made wonderful memories there. One trip gathered a group of 17 family members in an Airbnb for a week-long Disney adventure. We’ve also traveled by RV and spent two unforgettable weeks at Disney’s Fort Wilderness with family. If you’re planning your own trip, the official Visit Florida site is a great place to start.
More Than Theme Parks: Our Welcome to Florida Travel Detours
Not all of our trips to Florida have been about vacation. One visit was simply for a specialized medical appointment. It reminded us that travel often takes us to places for reasons we never expect. On another trip, we had every intention of venturing beyond the theme parks. We wanted to finally explore more of what Florida has to offer. Unfortunately, both of us came down with the illness that seemed to affect everyone during that time. Our sightseeing shrank to occasional glimpses of the Sunshine State through the windows of our RV.
Unfinished Plans in the Sunshine State
Even with our limited exploration, Florida continues to call us back. Florida offers beautiful coastlines, diverse landscapes, vibrant cities, and endless opportunities for adventure. We know there is so much more we still need to discover. We also have friends who call Florida home, and visiting them remains high on our travel wish list.
For now, Florida remains a state full of wonderful memories and unfinished plans. There are plenty of reasons for us to return someday. You can follow this destination and every other one on our travel map.
